Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What is a frost-proof sillcock?

An outdoor faucet with a long stem that closes inside the heated wall, so the exposed section drains and can't hold water. They only work if no hose is attached. With one connected, the water can't drain back and the advantage is gone.

A spigot works fine but water runs inside the wall. Why?

That's the classic sign of a split in the buried section of a sillcock: the valve still opens, and pressurized water escapes through the crack behind the siding. It often only shows when the faucet is on. It needs to be shut off at the branch valve until it's replaced.

Should an unused outbuilding line be shut off for winter?

Isolating and draining any line you don't need through the cold months removes the risk entirely. That means closing a valve and opening the far end so it can empty. Lines left charged in an unheated building are the ones that surprise people in spring. Barn and shop lines on the properties toward Guy are the usual example.

How do I know if my main shutoff still works?

Turn it fully closed and open a tap to see whether flow actually stops, then reopen it slowly. Valves that haven't moved in years often seize or start weeping at the stem. Better to learn that on a calm afternoon than during a leak.
