In the bathroom
A bowl that trickles has a tired flapper or fill valve, and a toilet that rocks or leaves a damp ring has a failed wax seal. A shower that swings between hot and cold has a worn cartridge. If the valve is too old for parts, the plumber replaces it through an access panel or from the room behind the wall.
